RIDOC provides on-site a comprehensive dental program for all inmates administered by the Chief of Dental Services William DelGizzo, DMD. The program consists of dentists, hygienists, dental assistants and dental surgeons (available on an as-needed basis.) All facilities have fully equipped dental suites complete with panorex and film processing capability. Prophylactic, emergency, and routine care is provided either on-site or in an appropriate clinical setting in the community. Sentenced inmates receive yearly oral hygiene and education from licensed dental hygienists.

The DOC dental program has been a clinical placement for students from the Tufts Dental School since 1990. Rhode Island Hospital dental residents use RIDOC facilities for clinical training in general practice. In addition, Dental Services provide a clinical placement for students in the CCRI School of Dental Hygiene and program for Dental Assistants.
