Admin/Training Academy/Steps to the Academy

The application process usually takes about four to five months to complete and occurs prior to acceptance into a Correctional Officer Training Academy. The application process includes:

1. Completing an application for employment
2. A written examination
3. Bureau of Criminal Identification (BCI)/National Crime Information Center (NCIC) checks
4. Physical Fitness Test
5. Background Investigation
6. An interview with the Director’s Interview Board
7. Psychological assessment
8. A Medical/drug screening
