How To Apply for Non-Medical Research:

  1. Review the Research Policy.Adobe Acrobat Document
  2. Identify and outline the program goals, measurable objectives, activities, and an evaluation design for your research. Use the Logic Model Adobe Acrobat Document and Logic Model Instructions Adobe Acrobat Document to help accomplish this step.
  3. Draft a comprehensive, formal research proposal.
  4. Obtain IRB approval if the research involves human subjects.
  5. Submit the Research Proposal, along with IRB approval (when applicable) to the Associate Director of Planning & Research by mail: 1 WilmaSchesler Lane, Pinel Building-2nd floor, Cranston, RI, 02920 or via email: planning@doc.ri.gov.
  6. You will be notified, in writing, once your research has been approved or denied by the Director.

  2. Identify and outline the program goals, measurable objectives, activities, and an evaluation design for your research. Use the Logic Model Adobe Acrobat Document and Logic Model Instructions Adobe Acrobat Document to help accomplish this step.
  3. Draft a comprehensive, formal research proposal.
  4. Obtain IRB approval.
  5. Submit one copy of the Research Proposal, along with IRB approval, and the Medical Review Advisory Group (MRAG) Application Form to the Associate Director of Planning & Research by mail: 1 Wilma Schesler Lane, Pinel Building-2nd floor, Cranston, RI, 02920 or via email: planning@doc.ri.gov.
  6. You will be notified, in writing, once your research has been approved or denied by the Director.
