The RIDOC’s Office of Human Resources is responsible for administering a variety of comprehensive human resource programs and services including, but not limited to, personnel administration, payroll, employee and labor relations, training, equal employment opportunity, and Workers' Compensation for the Department and its 1,500+ employees. The HR Office - which is comprised the Payroll section, the Personnel and Employee Relations section, and the Labor Relations section - also maintains close communication with other sections/units of the Department and outside agencies and assures that human resource activities comply with departmental policy, applicable collective bargaining agreements, the Personnel Rules & Regulations for Rhode Island State Employees, and federal and state law, including the Rhode Island Merit System Act.
