The RIDOC's Office of Human Resources is responsible for administering comprehensive human resource programs and services encompassing personnel and benefits administration, payroll, recruitment, employee and labor relations, training and development, equal employment opportunity, and the initial processing of staff injury reports for the Department and its workforce of approximately 1,400 sworn and civilian staff members. The HR Office also provides information and assistance to RIDOC personnel and members of the public, serves as a resource to unit managers, communicates and/or partners with outside agencies to meet its personnel needs, and assures that human resource activities comply with departmental policy, applicable collective bargaining agreements, Personnel Rules & Regulations, and federal and state law, including the RI Merit System.
